THE ABERDEEN ALTENS HOTEL
The Aberdeen Altens Hotel is pleasantly situated on the outskirts of the ‘Granite City’ Aberdeen. Hotel facilities include a heated swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym. All bedrooms are ensuite, including a television and tea/coffee facilities. This hotel does have a lift.

DAY ONE
Depart from your home area in the morning travelling to Aberdeen and arrive late afternoon at The Aberdeen Altens Hotel. 4 nights stay – dinner, bed and breakfast. Tea and coffee served on arrival.
• DAY TWO
After a leisurely breakfast this morning we travel north to Pitmedden Garden & Museum of Farming Life. This 17th-century walled garden contains over 30,000 bedding plants, 6 miles of clipped box hedging and over 200 fruit trees. The garden is split over three levels and at the heart of the property is a formal walled parterre garden filled with an array of colourful plants. The adjacent museum brings to life the agricultural heritage of the local area, where you can admire an extensive range of agricultural artefacts. We then journey west to the village of Oldmeldrum for our lunchtime stop before making the short drive to Haddo House & Garden. Visit the delightful terrace garden with flower beds, lovely borders and a fountain. A magnificent avenue of lime trees leads to adjacent Haddo Country Park, with lakes, monuments and wildlife.

• DAY THREE
Today we travel a short distance to the Gordan Highlanders Museum. Enjoy a guided tour of the interactive museum, which tells the story of one of Scotland's most famous Army regiments the Highlanders from 1794 – 1994. In the grounds, there is a Victorian Walled Garden and a Replica WW1 Trench to explore. Later we head to the Aberdeen Art Gallery home to one of the finest collection of Art in Scotland. Is a variety of exhibits that showcases work by local, national and international artists, designers and makers.

• DAY FOUR
This morning we enjoy a scenic drive West to the Scottish village of Alford. Where we visit the Grampian Transport Museum home to an impressive range of transport exhibits, from travelling chariots of the 1800’s to some of the fastest cars ever made. Later we visit the Alford Heritage Museum which showcases a range of exhibits that tell the story of life in this area of Rural Scotland in bygone eras.
• DAY FIVE
After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
