• DAY ONE - Depart from your home area in the morning for Foxfields Hotel. 4 nights stay – dinner, bed, breakfast. Tea/Coffee and biscuits on arrival.

• DAY TWO - Our guide joins us as we head for our first visit today to the beautiful Browsholme Hall and gardens laid out in the style of Capability Brown. The Hal was built in 1512 and is the ancestral home of the Parker family to this day.

We enjoy a guided tour here.      

This afternoon we have a short drive to Riley Green Marina. We join the boat for a relaxing and peaceful cruise along the canal, with afternoon tea served on the way.

• DAY THREE - Today we have a full-day guided tour of Pendle Hill Country, hearing about the infamous witches. Downham was the setting for the 1961 film Whistle Down the Wind and also TV’s Born and Bred. We call at Barrowford Visitor Centre for a break before heading over to Pendle Hill on our way to Clitheroe for a lunch break.         

The day continues with a drive through Britain in Bloom village of Chipping and on into the Hodder Valley. We take a break at the riverside tearooms in Slaidburn before heading back to the hotel.

• DAY FOUR - This morning we begin with a ride along the Ribble Valley to Longridge and north to the city of Lancaster, with its historic castle. We have time to explore and obtain lunch. This afternoon we journey back making a stop at the magnificent Samlesbury Hall, a half-timbered medieval house built in 1325 in the traditional black and white. We enjoy a guided tour here before we continue back to the hotel.

• DAY FIVE - After breakfast, we depart for home.
