The itinerary includes a scenic steam train journey, providing access to what is widely considered the most beautiful castle in the Cotswolds. A day is dedicated to exploring Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare.
Renowned for its distinctive Tudor revival architecture, the Cotswolds will immerse you in a bygone era. Both hotel are strategically situated for optimal sightseeing opportunities.
Monday After our pick ups we head to our Hotel with comfort stops on the way.
Tuesday Leisurely tour of the Cotswolds Relax and take in the scenery as you journey through picturesque landscapes featuring rolling hills and grasslands adorned with charming medieval villages and grand stately homes.
Enjoy leisure time in Moreton-in-Marsh, especially on Tuesdays when a bustling farmers market takes place.
Explore delightful villages like Stow-in-the-Wold, where the final skirmish of the English Civil War occurred in 1646.
We travel back not the hotel via the delightful village of Broadway and though the vale of Evesham.
Wednesday -Shakespeare Country The morning unfolds in the charming town of Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of the legendary playwright William Shakespeare.
Immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of this historical gem, adorned with a plethora of sights, inviting shops, upscale boutiques, and delightful eateries. As part of the experience, indulge in an included leisurely river cruise that offers enchanting views of the renowned Theatre and Holy Trinity, the final resting place of Shakespeare.
Thursday Southern Cotswolds & Sudeley Castle & Gardens Our first stop is Cheltenham, where we board the Glos. & Warcs. Steam Railway for a 40-minute journey through serene Cotswold countryside to Toddington. Rejoin your coach to visit the nearby Sudeley Castle & Gardens, with Royal connections stretching back over 1000 years. Explore the award-winning 1,200-acre estate and gardens and discover the fascinating treasures within. Notably, Sudeley is the only private castle in England to have a queen buried within its grounds – Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIII’s six wives, lies entombed in the beautiful 15th century church. We return via the medieval river town of Tewkesbury.
Friday after a hearty breakfast we make our way home.
