National Memorial Arboretum
One of the most moving visits of our tour is the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas in Staffordshire, the UK's year-round place of remembrance. Set across 150 acres, this beautiful living landscape is home to more than 400 memorials, commemorating members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services as well as civilian organisations and individuals who have served the nation. There will be time to wander through the woodland and gardens, discover the stories behind the memorials and simply pause for a moment of quiet reflection. It is both a beautiful place to explore and an incredibly poignant one.

Shrewsbury Prison & Shrewsbury
One of the holiday's most memorable experiences, a visit to Shrewsbury Prison. We'll step behind the imposing prison walls and uncover the realities of life behind bars. The guided experience takes visitors through prison wings, cells and other key spaces while explaining how prisoners lived, the routines and discipline of the prison and the work of its officers. The tour also explores the tougher side of its history, including segregation and the execution room.
An atmospheric and thought-provoking experience that promises to be a real talking point of the holiday.
This afternoon we spend time in Shrewsbury, the birthplace of Charles Darwin - With its well preserved medieval architecture, vibrant food scene and scenic riverside setting.
Royal Air Force Museum Midlands
Discover the story of the RAF through an extraordinary collection of aircraft and exhibitions. Highlights include the world's oldest Spitfire, the only surviving Defiant and aircraft connected with the Battle of Britain. The War in the Air exhibition includes British and German aircraft, a V-1 flying bomb, V-2 rocket and restored Wellington bomber. The spectacular National Cold War Exhibition explores one of the defining periods of the 20th century and includes the three famous V-Bombers, Valiant, Vulcan and Victor, as well as a genuine piece of the Berlin Wall.
Blists Hill Victorian Town
Step back in time at Blists Hill Victorian Town, part of the internationally important Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site. We'll discover a wonderfully recreated Victorian town, where costumed characters and craftspeople bring history to life. Explore the shops and cottages, meet people demonstrating traditional trades and hear stories of everyday life in an industrial Victorian community. Rather than simply looking at exhibits behind glass, Blists Hill gives visitors the opportunity to walk into the past, making this one of the most atmospheric days of our tour.

Oswestry & the British Ironwork Centre.
The market town of Oswestry- legally an English town though it has a deeply Welsh cultural heritage & identity due to its close location to the border. With a vibrant mix of independent shops, high street stores and historic indoor and outdoor market.
Our tour also takes us for a visit to one of Shropshire's most distinctive attractions, the British Ironwork Centre.
This family-run destination describes itself as the UK's leading metal sculpture park and is home to an enormous collection of decorative metalwork and sculptures from around the world. Its outdoor attractions extend across more than 70 acres, including sculpture parks, nature areas and walking trails. Among the centre's celebrated creations is the extraordinary Knife Angel, alongside other striking works including the Spoon Gorilla and Manchester Bee. With magnificent metal sculptures, outdoor trails, shopping and the Forge Café, it's an unusual and fascinating attraction and a great finale to our Shropshire sightseeing.
