DAY ONE
Depart from your home area travelling to Cumbria, arriving late afternoon at the Grange Hotel, Grange-over-Sands. 4 nights stay – dinner, bed & breakfast. Tea/coffee and biscuits on arrival.
• DAY TWO
Today we head to Ambleside, with time to explore the picturesque town and its wide variety of independent stores, museums, and cafes. Later this afternoon we head to Grasmere, the village known best for its famous gingerbread! We return home via Coniston, taking in the scenery all the way back.
• DAY THREE
This morning we make our way to the Cumbrian market town of Kendal, home of the ‘mint cake’. Kendal can boast two castles and is home to a fine selection of shopping arcades, museums and a host of historical buildings along with views that would please the most demanding photographer. In the afternoon we journey to Bowness-on-Windermere, a bustling tourist hotspot with independent shops, interesting museums & plenty of places to eat! After free time here, we jump aboard the Windermere Cruise from Bowness to Lakeside.
• DAY FOUR
This morning we journey to Leighton Hall Estate This impressive grade two * listed stately hall is the family home of the famous Gillow furniture-making family who are still residents today. We will enjoy a guided tour and have the chance to explore the famous collection of Gillow furniture, ‘objets d’art’, and the gardens. After our visit, we depart for the seaside town of Morecambe where you are free to explore at leisure.
• DAY FIVE
After breakfast, we leave and begin our journey home.
