A town caught still in a timeless charm'

Poet Laureate, John Betjeman, chose those words to describe Sidmouth after being captivated by its beautiful gardens, leisurely walks, clean beaches and Regency history. This lovely seaside town is nestled beneath majestic red cliffs, which, along with the green hills of the Sid Valley, will captivate you too.

Sidmouth really is a town like no other, located in East Devon and full of friendly faces and beautiful scenery, it is no wonder that Sidmouth is a firm favourite among tourists.

STEAM AND CRUISE- Travel on the steam railway from Paignton to Kingswear, then cross the River Dart on our foot passenger ferry to Dartmouth, where you board one of our boats for a circular River Cruise (approximately 1hr duration) around the river and estuary. The cruise takes you to the mouth of the river passing Kingswear & Dartmouth Castles, Dittisham village, Britannia Royal Naval College and Greenway House – home to the late Dame Agatha Christie. Tell the children to keep their eyes peeled for the varied wildlife that can be seen – Dolphins, Seals, Herons, Egrets, Buzzards and Kingfisher if you're quick enough!

On your return to Dartmouth there'll be time to look around, go shopping and have some lunch before going back to Kingswear for your return steam train ride to Paignton.

The beautiful South Devon countryside and historic town of Totnes have long provided inspiration for artists and makers. There’s a wealth of history and heritage to discover as you wander through the streets.

Life in the busy Devon fishing town of Brixham has always centred around the harbour, where heritage trawlers jostle for space with dayboats heading out to sea for the day’s catch, bringing it home daily to Brixham’s famous Fish Market. Here, in the heart of England’s Seafood Coast, the freshest fish and most delicious seafood is on the menu everywhere. Brixham is the quintessential English harbour, with a colourful and vibrant feel all year round.
