BLAIR ATHOL DISTILLERY

The very sight of this relatively small distillery is breath taking, however, it is amongst the oldest serving distilleries in the Country of Scotland.

A VISIT TO PITLOCHRY

Dalwhinney Distillery is home to a famous Highland Single Malt Whisky renowned for it's gentle flavours accentuated with notes of heather honey, citrus vanilla and sweet malt.

Dalwhinney is the highest distillery in Scotland at 1164 feet above sea level.

With a short journey on the Strathspey steam railway and a visit to Aviemore - a popular resort located in the Northwest corner of the majestic Cairngorms National Park. Towering mountains, sparkling lochs and dense forests surround this bustling town.

Blair Castle has been the home of the Athol family for over 7 centuries. The castle has a diverse history, witnessing both turbulent and peaceful times, enlarged and adapted over750 years. Home to politicians soldiers, agriculturists and entrepreneurs, the family history is brought to life against a backdrop of fine 18th century interiors and Scots Baronial architecture in 30 rooms. The castle is at the heart of historic landscape which was laid out in the 18th century and features a nine-acre walled garden, an extensive wooded grove, a ruined Kirk, a red deer park and a gothic folly. Highland cattle graze in the fields nearby and the native red squirrel can often be spotted amongst the branches of some of the garden's trees.

CULLODEN BATTLEFIELDS

Powerfully emotive and atmospheric battlefield where the 1745 Jacobite Rising came to a tragic end. Experience the powerful emotions of the Battle of Culloden in our visitors centre's 360 degree battle immersion theatre, which put's right in the heart of the action. Discover the true story of the 1745 Rising, from both the Jacobite and government perspectives in our accredited museum, where the weapons and unique artefacts are displayed. Enjoy panoramic views from the roof garden, see the restored 18th century Leanach Cottage and spot highland the proclamation issued by the Duke of Cumberland in May 1746, describing what would happen to the defeated Jacobite's.

A VISIT TO INVERNESS

Inverness a city in the Scottish Highlands, having been granted city status in 2000. It is the administrative centre for The Highland Council and is regarded as the capital of the Highlands.

Ballindalloch Castle

Situated on the banks of the River Avon, a short distance from it's junction with the River Spey, Ballindalloch Castle has been the home of the Macpherson-Grant family since it was started in 1546. Explore five hundred years of Highland history, acres of formal gardens, woodlands and riverside walks "The Gardens".

The formal grounds of Ballindalloch Castle were principally laid down in the second half of the19th century, following the extensive restorations to the Castle made around 1850.

Grangetown-on-Spey in the Scottish Highlands, is perfectly placed in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and at one end of Scotland's 90 mile Snow Road.
